Aurizon Network’s approved 2017 access undertaking includes default reference tariffs for users of its network.
Under the access undertaking, Aurizon Network may apply to vary these reference tariffs where specific events occur. These events are called endorsed variation events or review events.
Endorsed variation event— QCA levy 2021–22
On 26 July 2021, Aurizon Network proposed an adjustment to reference tariffs for 2021–22 as a result of an endorsed variation event. This event relates to a variation in the QCA fees, resulting in a change to the QCA levy.
We are satisfied that the requirements for an endorsed variation event were met. On 19 August 2021, we approved the application.

Endorsed variation events — AT5 reference tariff and QCA levy 2020–21
On 17 July 2020, Aurizon Network applied to adjust reference tariffs for 2020–21 as a result of two endorsed variation events. Aurizon Network sought a change to the AT5 tariff arising from a change in the pricing from a transmission entity, and a change to the QCA levy associated with a variation in the QCA fees.
We were satisfied in both cases that the requirements for an endorsed variation event were met and approved the applications.
