The Gas Distribution Network Code (the Code) is made under the Gas Supply Act 2003. The first edition of the Code came into effect on 1 July 2015, replacing the Gas Industry Code.
The Gas Supply and Other Legislation (Hydrogen Industry Development) Amendment Act 2023 received assent on 19 October 2023 and formally commenced on 4 April 2024, amending the Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Act 2004 and the Gas Supply Act 2003.
The second edition of the Code, which came into effect on 26 April 2024, includes amendments to ensure that the Code reflects the expanded scope of the amended Gas Supply Act.
